For years we chased performance at work, in the gym and at home. We tried the routines, the early starts and the next big fix, and everything kept coming back to one thing nobody talks about: how well we slept.

Sleep is when your body does its real work. Muscles repair, your mind sorts through the day, and your mood resets. Skip it and everything feels like you’re climbing uphill. Get it right and the same day feels lighter.

Jabal Nour, the Mountain of Light. We climbed it at night, on a steep, rocky path packed with people from every corner of the world. Our legs burned and our lungs burned. And the higher we went, the more we noticed what was happening around us.

When someone tripped, three hands reached out before they hit the ground. Strangers passed water to strangers. People who couldn’t share a word of the same language waited for each other at every bend. Nobody walked past someone who was struggling.

We reached the top in the dark, exhausted and nowhere near alone. It’s stayed with us ever since.
